The opportunities for electronic components are growing rapidly. There are limitless applications that can benefit from these components, whether it’s smart cards, sensors, RFID, flexible electronics or more. This brings us to Linxens, a global leader in the design and manufacture of smartcard connectors and inlays. Linxens has branched out into related areas such as RFID and reel-to-reel flexible electronics, and is moving into markets, including early warning sensors for odors for Li-ion batteries in electric vehicles. Cuong Duong, CEO of Linxens, noted that Linxens has a rich history, having developed the micro-connector, which is an essential component in the development of the smart card, more than 40 years ago. Continuing in this business, Linxens focused on developing cutting-edge technologies in these domains. Over the years, Linxens has extended its expertise to RFID antennas and inlays, crucial components in RFID tags which are used in various applications, including contactless payment systems, access control, supply chain management and hospitality. “The world’s biggest technology players entrust us with their projects in the fields of payments, telecoms, identity, access control, hospitality and leisure and logistics, etc.,” Duong said. “Leveraging on its knowledge in micro-connectors, Linxens contributed to the development of flexible electronic solutions, which are applied in diverse industries such as wearables, healthcare, and automotive. “Today, with over 120 billion micro-connectors and more than 6 billion RFID antennas produced, Linxens is the global specialist in the design and manufacture of these electronic components,” added Duong. “Linxens is exploring new fields in which to apply its technological expertise, such as connected healthcare or authentication and traceability for the IoT or identification for the government.” As a result of its expertise, Linxens has started to play a significant role in advancing technologies related to smartcards, RFID and flexible electronics. Linxens is also extending its expertise into the healthcare, IoT and government markets. With Linxens’ new medical solutions offers like biosensors, Linxens is focusing on healthcare applications for patient monitoring and facilitating point-of-care diagnostics. Duong noted that there are different key indicators that can place Linxens ahead of its competitors in the RFID and flexible electronics space. “Linxens’ pioneering spirit has allowed Linxens to design and develop new disruptive technologies, thus being able to offer a comprehensive range of RFID solutions, antennas and flexible electronics components that supply to diverse industry needs. Extending to new market segments, proves our commitment and thrive for continuous innovation,” Duong noted. “Linxens always make sure that the quality and reliability of our electronic components and technological solutions are meeting industry standards and acquiring relevant certifications, notably CQM / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 18001,” Duong added. “We also demand ISO TS 16949 v2009 conformity for the creation and production of our smart card Micro-connectors. Our factories in Ayutthaya, Thailand and Shanghai, China are common criteria EAL 6 certified. Duong also pointed to Linxens’ agility to customize and adapt according to specific technical specifications of different clients. “This has proven to be a pivotal strength, allowing us to excel in delivering tailor-made solutions,” Duong said. “This flexibility positions Linxens as a dynamic and responsive partner in this industry.” Duong noted that Linxens has a strong focus on innovation and service, not only in the smartcard industry, but also in above mentioned markets. “Linxens has a total of nine production sites and is investing in five R&D Centers to serve this mission,” Duong reported. “Our emphasis on technological advancements is evident in our commitment to enable innovation to improve everyone’s life. One of Linxens’ key objectives for 2025 is customer-centricity to provide outstanding high-quality products and excellent services, while prioritizing being responsible in our manufacturing processes, materials sourcing and being environmentally considerate.” Linxens has not rested on its laurels, having partnered with industry leaders on a wide range of applications, from analyzing sweat to providing sensors for lithium-ion batteries. “Recently, in partnership with Belab, Linxens has developed a connected armcuff that can analyze sweating in real-time and gives you hydration advice to improve your performance,” said Duong. “Linxens has recently developed with its German partner Smartnanotubes Technologies an early-warning sensor for lithium-Ion batteries, which alerts overheating in electric vehicles. Another recent advancement is the reel-to-reel manufacturing of a sensor array that is 8x smaller than the current one, to reduce production costs and space requirements in the application.” Duong sees a bright future ahead for Linxens, as the company looks to expand into new markets. “Linxens’ objective is to be the leader in all its historical market segments by enabling technology to facilitate the consumer’s life and providing more secure, reliable and sustainable solutions,” Duong concluded. “Linxens is striving to maximize its diversification strategy through innovation on new markets, including healthcare and IoT solutions.”
