The Metro New York Printing Ink Association (MNYPIA) honored Jeffrey Shaw, VP and chief supply chain officer for Sun Chemical, with its 22nd Anthony Mauriello Award. Shaw was honored Oct. 16, 2025 at a dinner held in his honor at Il Villagio in Carlstadt, NJ.

“I am beyond humbled,” Shaw said. “I was not expecting this many people here, and it is incredible to have so many past award winners here. When you look at the list of honorees, there’s a lot of great people who have earned a tremendous amount of respect. I really appreciate this award, and I thank the Metro New York Printing Ink Association.”

Jeff has been a vital part of Sun Chemical for more than 15 years, overseeing its global supply chain, including demand forecasting, supply planning, replenishment, inventory management, procurement, logistics, customs compliance, and customer service. His journey at Sun Chemical began in May 2010 as VP of supply chain.

By August 2013, he joined the senior leadership team as VP supply chain, quality, and business improvement. Following the retirement of Ed Pruitt in December 2015, Jeff took on the role of chief procurement officer, where he currently serves as Sun Chemical’s chief supply chain officer. His goal is to minimize disruptions caused by today’s numerous supply chain challenges, ensuring seamless operations for Sun Chemical’s customers and manufacturing sites.

In addition to his responsibilities at Sun Chemical, Jeff is an active member of several industry associations, including MNYPIA, NAPIM, and SOCMA. He represents Sun Chemical and the supply chain for the graphic arts, ink, and pigment industries.

Greg Holden, director of supply chain for Sun Chemical, served as the master of ceremonies and spoke about Shaw’s passion for the industry and for people.

“The MNYPIA is such a vital organization, and Sun Chemical is so proud to see Jeffrey Shaw receive the Anthony Mauriello Award,” Holden said. “He has to work with supply chain challenges, and he gives his all every day. He truly loves what he does, and he has a clear focus on people.

“I’ve been working with Jeff since 2018, and I am in awe of his breadth of knowledge,” added Holden. “Jeff’s a man of action. He works closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and logistics companies, and gets the job done by leading. He is always looking for ways to get better. He has the uncanny ability to break down complex issues.”

Holden notes that Jeff enjoys quality time with his family, watching sports, playing golf, and traveling. Jeff and his wife Lisa have been married for 26 years and have four children.

“Jeff’s a strong family man,” Holden concluded. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations. He truly deserves this award.”

Glenn Sokoloski, global logistics, distribution and trade compliance at Sun Chemical, has worked with Jeff for 10 years at Sun Chemical, as well as previously at American Standard. He spoke about the unique ways Jeff looks at issues.

“Jeff was an award-winning artist, and he has a vision,” said Sokoloski. “You must be a visionary with a practical way to approach problems. For the past 15 years, Jeff has kept Sun Chemical heading toward a vision. He thinks outside the box and looks at things in different ways. He treats people like family, and he also makes sure that everybody gets a win. I can’t think of a better representative of the industry.”

Chris Allen, global key account manager for Sun Chemical, spoke about Jeff’s leadership ability during these challenging times.

“The last five years have been a mess from a supply chain perspective, and we’ve survived because of Jeff and his team,” Allen noted.

Allen also brought a congratulatory message from Myron Petruch, Sun Chemical’s president and CEO. “Thanks for always doing your best for the entire industry, not just for Sun Chemical,” said Petruch.

In accepting the award, Shaw spoke about the importance of making sure that everyone is treated fairly.

“I do approach everything with passion, not just for Sun Chemical but for the industry,” Shaw said. “I thank Sun Chemical, our boss Myron Petruch and our leadership team. I try to make sure that our supply team has a front seat. It matters.

“If you treat everything as a transaction, it fails quickly,” Shaw added. “I want to thank my team, and I also say thank you to our suppliers. I overemphasize communication because without our suppliers, it becomes impossible to serve our customers. I thank our customers as it has to be about them. I also give a big thank you to my wife, Lisa, and our children. Without Lisa’s unwavering support, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do.”
