Toyo Ink Europe Introduces Steraflex GIO UV Low Migration UV Flexo Inks

The new product will be showcased at Labelexpo Europe 2025 this September.

Toyo Ink Europe N.V., a member of Japan’s artience Group (formerly Toyo Ink Group), has recently added the Steraflex GIO UV to its existing portfolio of flexographic printing inks.

The new ink system offers superb print and press performance on most label substrates. These include sleeves and other applications where migration is a key priority.

Steraflex GIO is fully compliant with EuPIA, Swiss Ordinance, the latest ECHA SVHC list and other European regulations. This includes the German Ink Ordinance, and sets a new benchmark in both safety and performance.

Formulated with a next-generation binder system, Steraflex GIO delivers enhanced adhesion across a broad range of substrates. This ink demonstrates significantly improved bond strength, even on low surface tension substrates like BOPP.

This enables converters and brands to have greater versatility in materials and applications without compromising on print quality or safety.

Steraflex GIO reflects Toyo Ink Europe’s commitment to sustainable innovation, regulatory foresight, and high-performance printing solutions.

“With increasing regulatory scrutiny on food packaging inks, compliance and transparency are more important than ever,” says Ismail Yilmaz, GM sales & corporate strategy for Toyo Ink Europe. “Steraflex GIO is free from intentionally added photoinitiator 379, ensuring it aligns with the current and upcoming requirements under the German Ink Ordinance. This gives printers and brand owners peace of mind when producing packaging for more sensitive applications, particularly in the food and pharmaceutical sector.”

The new ink will be highlighted at the Toyo Ink Europe (artience Group) booth at Labelexpo Europe 2025, Sept. 16- 19, in Barcelona.
