Siegwerk will exhibit from Sept. 16-19, 2025, at Labelexpo Europe in Barcelona, Spain. Besides highlighting some of its latest ink and coating developments for labels and packaging printing at booth 3G77, the company will also give insights into how its solutions can boost efficiency and recyclability, helping to meet the latest packaging trends.
“The show highlights will include our latest low-migration ink series for labels, shrink sleeves, aluminum lids or foils, and plastic tube printing as well as our industry-leading inkjet solutions for sensitive applications and direct-to-object printing. We will also introduce new overprint varnishes specially developed for the finishing and embellishment of digitally printed labels,” says Guido Lander, VP Narrow Web EMEA at Siegwerk.
Visitors can look forward to gaining insights into the company’s diverse portfolio of printing inks and coatings and learn how these can help them to efficiently produce sustainable labels and packaging.
“At Siegwerk, we stand for tailor-made solutions that combine ecological responsibility with maximum performance, and that is exactly what we will be demonstrating once again at this year’s Labelexpo,” adds Lander.
With its newest generations of SICURA Nutriflex 10, a UV flexo ink series, and SICURA Nutriflex LEDTec, a dual-cure system that can be cured with either LED or UV mercury lamps, Siegwerk will introduce two series that now also enable the printing of primary food packaging according to the German Ink Ordinance (GIO), which comes into effect on Jan. 1, 2026.
The new regulation aims to improve consumer health protection and is more comprehensive and restrictive than existing regulations.
With SICURA Flex Dual Cure, Siegwerk will also showcase a dual-cure system suitable for non-food applications as well as food packaging where processing conditions preclude the possibility of set-off and the final printed packaging ensures reliable functional barrier properties against migration.
“With our latest developments of dual-cure inks for food and non-food applications, we are making it even easier for our customers not only to switch to more eco-friendly production processes without compromising on performance, but also to already meet the requirements of the upcoming regulations like GIO,” explains Marc Larvor, head of technology Narrow Web EMEA at Siegwerk.
The company has been developing UV and LED UV-curing solutions for decades and offers a broad portfolio of state-of-the-art inks and coatings that are continuously optimized to meet changing market requirements, such as new raw materials and the increasing performance of LED UV lamps. With energy savings of up to 50%, LED UV is becoming an increasingly attractive alternative for printers, not least due to the recent high and volatile energy costs.
Siegwerk will also showcase other highlights from its UV-curable inkjet ink portfolio, developed exclusively for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners. The company’s solutions are engineered to provide maximum performance and reliability through deep technical co-development, ensuring seamless integration with an OEM’s printing equipment.
All UV inkjet solutions are 100% free of compounds that are carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic to reproduction (CMR-free), addressing the highest regulatory standards. The entire portfolio is optimized for modern, energy-efficient LED curing systems. For standout print quality, these inks provide an extended color gamut further supported by custom-developed spot colors to meet specific brand requirements.
The featured portfolio includes:
• SICURA Jet: A high-performance, CMR-free UV-curable inkjet series delivering excellent adhesion and high durability for labels, aluminum blisters, and direct-to-object printing.
• SICURA NutriJet: An industry-leading low-migration ink series designed to meet the highest safety standards for food, pharmaceutical, and hygiene packaging applications.
Underpinning this specialized portfolio is Siegwerk’s extensive global footprint. With a network of manufacturing sites and local service hubs worldwide, the company provides OEMs with reliable product supply, responsive technical support, and expert regulatory guidance across all major markets.
This global infrastructure ensures that partners can confidently scale their business and support their end-customers anywhere in the world with consistent quality and performance. Siegwerk rejects a “one size fits all” approach, instead tailoring ink formulations to the unique inkjet system of each OEM.
“Our OEM-exclusive model is about true partnership,” says Matthieu Carni, director Business Unit Inkjet at Siegwerk. “We focus on deep technical co-development to ensure our ink chemistry unlocks the full potential of our partners’ print equipment. We help them deliver superior quality, safety, and sustainability to their customers.
As one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality inks and coatings, Siegwerk has always been committed to pioneering the development of forward-looking printing inks and coatings that enable compliant and safe packaging production while promoting a sustainable and recyclable packaging industry.
At the upcoming Labelexpo, Siegwerk experts will listen and identify current needs at an early stage and focus the company’s research and development work on addressing the right trends.
“Only together can we shape the future of packaging and make a difference that lasts,” says Lander.
