Schreiner MediPharm presents smart packaging solution for tracking syringes administered in clinical trials.

Recognized with the 2025 FINAT Innovation Award, the new Smart Syringe Box from Schreiner MediPharm shows how modern packaging solutions can optimize clinical trials. Thanks to integrated electronics, various types of syringe packaging can now be digitalized.

The box enables precise tracking of drug administration in clinical trials and with an additional temperature monitoring feature enhances the safety of temperature-sensitive biopharmaceuticals. 

International clinical trials require utmost precision and efficient processes. Regular and correct administration of investigational drugs is imperative but manual processes are frequently error-prone and deviations from the dosing scheme may lead to distorted trial outcomes.

The Smart Syringe Box from Schreiner MediPharm offers the solution for digital therapy monitoring. Due to a cardboard layer with easy to open, perforated compartments, the removal of every single syringe can be precisely captured, including the respective compartment and time stamp. All data are automatically stored in the Smart Syringe Box and transmitted to a database via NFC, Bluetooth or smartphone app.

Optionally available is an integrated temperature monitoring feature offering additional safety when handling sensitive active ingredients. Transportation and storage conditions of temperature-critical biopharmaceuticals, for instance, can be seamlessly documented. The adherence data generated thanks to the Smart Syringe Box support both therapy tracking and adjustment of individual therapy plans. In combination with specialty software this enables central tracking, which facilitates the documentation and analysis of the data.
