Full exhibition stands, groundbreaking product innovations, lively technical discussions and top-class lectures characterized LOPEC 2025. Approximately 170 exhibitors from 29 countries and around 2,400 visitors came together from Feb. 25 to 27, 2025 in the ICM (International Congress Center) at Messe MĂĽnchen.

This year, the leading trade fair and congress for flexible, organic and printed electronics have placed even greater focus on the user side, including practice-oriented lecture sessions. The key topics were the increasing market penetration and the enormous importance of printed electronics for sustainable applications in a wide variety of industries.

“We can look back on a very successful LOPEC,” said Katja Stolle, executive director of the New Technologies division at Messe MĂĽnchen. “A consistently high number of exhibitors, pioneering new products, the strong internationality of the participants and the quality of the presentations have once again set standards.”

“More and more industries are recognizing the possibilities this technology offers to make existing products more sustainable and to develop completely new products,” project manager Armin Wittmann added. “Visitors were also able to see groundbreaking product innovations and prototypes in the Innovation Showcase. These include smart OLED rear lights from Audi with integrated warning options, intelligent windows for vehicles and buildings in which light transmission can be controlled and energy generated, and a special vest with printed coils that makes MRI examinations easier for children.”

Industry is on a Sustainable Growth Path

“LOPEC 2025 has once again proven that it is the world’s leading platform for flexible and printed electronics. I am pleased to see new products that meet the increasing environmental requirements of a wide range of industries. These show the significant contribution that printed electronics can make to a more sustainable, circular economy,” said Dr. Klaus Hecker, managing director of OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association).

“The industry’s strong presence and dynamic discussions confirm the industry’s growth potential,” Dr. Hecker added. “According to our current OE-A business climate survey, it is continuing its upward trend and expects sales growth of 9% in 2025 and sustainable sales growth of 13% for 2026.”

Congress Sets New Accents

At the three-day LOPEC Congress, industry representatives and research institutes from 23 countries shared their expertise in nearly 150 high-caliber presentations. These included speakers from Audi, Covestro, Fraunhofer, Henkel, Panasonic and Sun Chemical.

“The new user sessions on the focus topics of smart living and mobility made this year’s congress even more practice oriented. This gave trade fair visitors the opportunity to efficiently combine the trade fair and the congress,” said Wolfgang Mildner, general chair of LOPEC.

The exhibitors were extremely satisfied with their trade fair appearance.

“LOPEC is a very focused trade fair for all players in the field of printed and organic electronics with a very good and representative mix of material and equipment manufacturers as well as users,” said Franz Vollmann, global head printed Eelectronics at Heraeus.

For MatjaĹľ FinĹľgar, head of sales at Ino, LOPEC is also the perfect place to talk to experts and make contacts that will drive the industry forward: “We value the spark that ignites when the right people come together to turn innovations into concrete products that improve lives.” Edzer Huitema, CTO of E Ink, described LOPEC as ideal for “presenting the latest products to potential customers as well as new suppliers and partners.”

LOPEC 2026 will take place from February 24 to 26 (trade fair: February 25 and 26, 2026) in Munich.
