SEMI announced the election of two new members to the SEMI North America Advisory Board (NAAB): Gerardo Familiar, President, Advanced Performance Materials, The Chemours Company (Chemours), and Sam Ponzo, Interim President of Semiconductor Technologies, Qnity Electronics, Inc. (Qnity).

The Board appointments took effect on January 14, 2026. Members serve a three-year term.

The principal advocate for member companies located in North America, the NAAB provides guidance on SEMI Americas programs designed to advance their business interests and address significant challenges in the electronics manufacturing and design supply chain.

Familiar brings over 25 years of global experience across commercial excellence, marketing, strategy, product management, operations, finance, regulatory affairs, and a deep understanding of fluorinated chemistries to his role as Chemours’ President, Advanced Performance Materials.

He has held several leadership roles with the company, including General Manager of Chemours Hydrogen Venture, Senior Director of Global Strategy, Marketing, and Regulatory Affairs for the Thermal Specialized Solutions (TSS) business at Chemours, Investor Relations Director, President of Chemours Mexico, and multiple sales and marketing roles.

Ponzo has close to three decades of strategic business management experience and currently serves as Qnity’s Interim President of Semiconductor Technologies. He previously served as Qnity’s Chief Strategy & Commercial Officer.

Before the launch of Qnity, Ponzo spent over 25 years at DuPont, where he held a range of significant leadership positions, including Vice President and General Manager for DuPont’s Industrial Solutions business in the Electronics & Industrial segment.

“We are delighted to welcome Gerardo Familiar and Sam Ponzo to the SEMI North America Advisory Board,” said Joe Stockunas, President of SEMI Americas. “Both Gerardo and Sam are seasoned executives whose strong leadership experience will be a tremendous asset to our board. Their broad expertise in advanced materials and commitment to innovation will help drive new opportunities for our members across the semiconductor manufacturing and design ecosystem.”
