Waxes are an additive that can enhance the performance of inks or coatings. In particular, the addition of waxes can change slip, abrasion resistance and/or scratch resistance of the final ink, among other characteristics. Waxes can either be natural (carnauba, paraffin) or synthetic (polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyethylene, polyolefin, Fischer-Tropsch).
